HOW DO I REHYDRATE MY FLOWERS?

Updated: Oct 23, 2022

If you accompany your flowers in their opening process with patience and love, you will be surprised by their resilience!

HOW DO I REHYDRATE MY FLOWERS?

1. Prepare your vase or container and make sure it is cleaned and properly sterilized.

2. Recut all flower stems under running water. Use clean, sharp utensils, such as scissors, shears, or knives. Cut each stem at least 1 inch from the bottom at a 45 degree angle for optimal water absorption.

3. Once you have cut the stems, immediately place the flowers in the water prepared with flower food. Be careful not to overload the flowers! Store the vase or container at room temperature away from direct sunlight to give them time to drink and recover. This rehydration process can take up to 12 hours. If after that time any stems still appear wilted, cut back again following the steps above.

5. If you are using floral foam material, saturate it completely in water and add a floral preservative. Place your arrangement away from heat, drafts, and direct sunlight, and check it often to make sure it doesn't dry out.

6. Change the water in your flowers every two or three days or whenever its cloudy. When changing the water, it is best to always clean the vase and cut the stems again following the instructions in steps 1 to 3.
